SansSouci Studios consists of a mother daughter team with a love for all things art and craft.
We chose the name SansSouci as it means "Carefree" or literally "Without a Care." This is our state of mind when doing what we love.

Karin Dawn is a self-taught artist. She grew up surrounded by the vibrant colors of the Caribbean and those colors influence her work greatly. She uses a variety of media for her work. Oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels and other mixed media items. Her work focuses predominantly on Caribbean culture and scenery but there is also a wide selection of floral paintings.
She was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago. She has also lived in Jamaica, England, Canada, and is currently residing in Pittsburgh, USA.
Her work has been displayed in shows and galleries and she has also been commissioned by embassies and art collectors worldwide. She has won many awards, among them a plaque awarded by the New York Times in Tampa for 'Excellence in Art for Women.'
She is retired and spends her days painting in her studio recreating treasured memories of her homeland on canvas. She also paints by commission; so you are welcome to contact her for your favorite scenes, places and paintings of your homes.

Simone has been a life-long crafter. She started crafting with paper. Fascinated by paper mechanics, she designed interactive pop up albums, cards and quilling.
Her interests
expanded to working with diverse materials: paper, wood, polymer clay, metal and resin in
a wide range of crafting techniques. Quilled canvases, making photo albums, journals,
greeting cards, sculpted canvases, decoupaged wood boxes, building miniatures, making
resin ornaments and jewelry, candles and lotion making.
Life is never boring for a crafter.
